Teaching Philosophy
I teach computer science so that students leave able to build, secure, and explain working systems. My approach is student-centered and applied. I connect theory to hands-on practice through active learning, real-world case studies, and project-based assessment. The same link between research and practice defines my work as an AI and cybersecurity researcher, and I bring current problems from that work, such as phishing and intrusion detection, into the classroom as case studies and projects.
Many of my students learn in a second language. I support them with visual aids, interactive discussion, and adaptive assessment, so that language does not become a barrier to technical understanding. I also treat employability as part of learning: students work on the digital platforms and toward the industry certifications (AWS, Microsoft, and Cisco) that employers recognize.
Teaching Experience
19+ years of teaching at Bahrain Polytechnic (2018–2026) and seven engineering institutions in India, including Head or Technical Head roles in Computer Science & Engineering at three of them. I have taught 40+ distinct courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational levels, which lets me cover a department’s core sequence while anchoring advanced electives in my research area.
- Core computer science
- Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Computer Architecture and Organization, Principles of Programming Languages, Distributed Computing
- Software and web development
- C, C++, Java, Python, PHP, ASP.NET, Full-Stack Web Design (HTML5, CSS3), Mobile Application Development (Android, J2ME), Databases (MySQL, MongoDB)
- AI, cloud, and security
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Python Programming for AI, Applied Deep Learning with TensorFlow, Robotics (Jetson Nano, Raspberry Pi), AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Networking, Introduction to AI and Cyber Security
Teaching Methods
- Project-based learning: Since 2008, I have anchored programming courses in working software, starting with mini-projects such as a media player and a text editor. Students in my recent AI and cybersecurity courses build applied projects, including robotics on Jetson Nano and Raspberry Pi and IoT security demonstrations.
- Industry certification pathways: I have taught certification-track courses (AWS Solutions Architect, MTA Databases, IC3 Internet Programming, and Intel Deep Learning with TensorFlow) so students graduate with an industry-recognized credential alongside their coursework.
- Blended and online delivery: I led the implementation of the Moodle e-learning platform for online examinations and have taught on Canvas, Google Classroom, and Microsoft Teams since 2018.
- Curriculum and assessment design: As a department head, I designed syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, including ISO 9001:2008-certified processes. At Bahrain Polytechnic, I designed course syllabi for Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Cyber Security.
Mentorship and Student Success
- Doctoral supervision: I supervise two Ph.D. research scholars at SR University, India.
- Project mentoring: I have personally mentored undergraduate students through their Final Year and Major Projects.
- Practical skills: I have helped students build and host their own websites and configure email and hosting accounts, giving them portfolio-ready skills beyond the syllabus.
- Employability: I have helped students earn industry certifications from Microsoft and AWS, directly supporting their careers after graduation.
Teaching Recognition
- 2nd Best Paper, UNESCO 2025: “Advancing Ethical and Inclusive Artificial Intelligence Education for Sustainable Development in Bahrain”
- Certificate of Academic Hero, Knowledgeable Teacher: NCST, October 2022
- Employee of the Month for Stellar Performance: NCST, September 2021
- Certificate of Achievement for Extraordinary Performance: Computer Science Department, NCST, 2020
Trainer Credentials
Alongside academic teaching, I deliver industry certification training as an authorized trainer:
- Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT No. 14806061), since 2018
- AWS Academy Trainer, since 2023
- EC-Council Authorized Trainer
Workshops and Faculty Development
Workshops I have organized and delivered

- Current technology: Agentic AI for Cybersecurity (C3iHub, IIT Kanpur, 2026); Cyber Security and Computer Forensics, Deep Learning, and AI for Medical Image Analysis (E&ICT, NIT Warangal, 2024); Deep Learning and Machine Learning & AI (NSS IIT Roorkee, 2023)
Books as Teaching Resources
I have written four books that can serve as course texts and support students learning outside class:
- Cyber Security for Beginners (2024)
- The Complete Ethical Hacking (2024)
- Generative AI: A ChatGPT Tool (2024)
- Fundamentals of Medical Image Processing (2025)
Courses I Am Prepared to Teach
- Core courses
- Data Structures and Algorithms, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Database Systems, Cloud Computing, Programming in Python and Java
- Advanced electives
- Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Ethical Hacking
- New courses from my research
- AI-Driven Cybersecurity and Intrusion Detection; Adversarial Machine Learning; NLP for Security (Phishing and Fraud Detection); Security of Digital Payment Systems. These would bring my postdoctoral research on phishing detection and my planned work on UPI payment security directly into the curriculum.
